On September 24-26, 2025, officers from the Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Ostrów Wielkopolski took part in facility exercises organized on the premises of the Coal Sales Headquarters – Węglozbyt S.A.
The exercise scenario involved a coal dump fire. Firefighters’ actions included constructing a water supply based on a fire-fighting reservoir, then applying effective water jets from the plots to the top of the dump. Firefighting scenarios and the organization of water backup in the event of a prolonged incident were also practiced.
The exercises allowed the officers not only to test and improve their rescue and firefighting operations, but also to become familiar with the specifics of the facility and the limitations that may occur during real rescue and firefighting operations.
